How do I know which award is right for me?
Start by opening the award links on this page and checking the “Is this for me?” or eligibility sections. You may qualify for some awards automatically (for example, alumni discounts), while others need an application.
Do I need to apply, or are awards automatic?
It depends on the award:
- Some are automatic, like the Early Payment Discount (if you pay in full by the deadline) and the Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship (if you meet the criteria).
- Others need an application (for example, the Postgraduate Scholarship).
- The Hardship Bursary is for current students and is applied for via the intranet.
Can I get more than one scholarship or discount?
Usually, you can only hold one UEL scholarship/discount at a time, unless an award says it can be combined. Check the terms on each award page before you apply or accept.
I’m in financial difficulty. What support is available?
If you’re already enrolled and facing unexpected financial hardship, you may be able to apply for the Hardship Bursary (up to £3,000). Applications are made through the student intranet.
Who can I contact for help?
If you’re not sure which award applies to you, contact the relevant team listed on the individual award page.
