Undergraduate Scholarships
The following scholarships are available for new students starting in the academic year 2024/25 via competitive application.
Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of merit and need.
Before starting your scholarship application, you must make an application to start an eligible course at UEL.
Scholarship | Is this for me? | Award |
---|---|---|
Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship | Aimed at students who reflect a commitment to the University values. | Up to £27,750 over three years, as a cash award or tuition fee waiver. |
Dean Scholarship | Aimed at students who demonstrate both academic excellence, financial need and a commitment to the University values. | Up to £13,500 over three years, as a cash award or tuition fee waiver. |
Sports Scholarship | Aimed at talent athletes towards fulfilling their potential as a student athlete. | Up to £6,000 per year of study. |
ELSEF Scholarships | Aimed at students progressing to UEL directly from an ELSEF member college. | Up to £1,000 in the first year only. |
UTC Scholarships | Aimed at students progressing to UEL directly from LDE UTC. | Up to £1,500 in the first year only. |
Helena Kennedy Foundation | Aimed at supporting disadvantaged students who have overcome significant barriers to continue with Higher Education. | £2,250 over duration of course. |
Undergraduate bursaries
The following bursaries are available for new undergraduate students starting in the academic year 2024/25 via an application.
Bursary | Is this for me? | Award |

Hardship Bursary | Aimed at students from low-income households facing unforeseen financial difficulties. | Up to £3,000. |
Young Independent Student Bursary | Aimed at students who previously lived in care or a foyer or/and whom are estranged from their parents. | Up to £1,500 per year of study. |
Engagement Bursary | Aimed to supporting students financially to remain in higher education (childcare, travel and DSA). | Up to £3,000. |
Progression Bursary | Aimed at supporting student employability, targeting low-income students accessing course costs, graduate interview costs, and reasonable adjustment costs for students with disabilities. | Up to £3,000. |
Short Course Bursary | Aimed at supporting students from low-income households undertaking UEL pre-entry short courses. | Up to £200. |
