On campus employer events
We host exciting employer events on campus that give you the chance to network with professionals and gain insight into different companies and industries. Each on campus event is carefully planned to maximise student engagement and create meaningful connections between students and industry professionals.
In addition to our two major annual careers fairs, we also host a variety of panel events, guest lectures, hackathons, and networking sessions.
Our events are delivered both on campus and online, with some integrated directly into your curriculum. Employers partner with the university to connect directly with our talented students. These strategic on campus event partnerships benefit both students and employers by creating a direct pipeline between academic excellence and industry needs.
Find out how we connect you to industry
Our on campus events programme creates a vibrant ecosystem where learning meets opportunity, providing students with direct access to industry leaders, potential employers, and career-defining moments that can shape their professional journey.
Types of employer events
- Careers Fairs
Our two major annual careers fairs bring together students, graduates, and employers from a variety of industries. You'll learn about different recruitment processes, apply for jobs on the spot, and get tips on how to stand out from the crowd.
- Panel and networking events
These events give you the chance to meet and speak with employers in a relaxed setting. They often include a panel where companies present to students, followed by a networking session where you can ask questions about their organisation and current job openings.
- Hackathon events
Hackathons are a fun way to showcase your skills by responding to challenges and working with a team to develop new and innovative solutions. Many employers use these events as a key part of their recruitment process to see your skills in action.
Insight and lecture talks
In these events, employers visit the university to deliver talks about their organisation, available job opportunities, and how to apply. Some of these talks are held during a dedicated event time, while others are integrated directly into your lectures.
What our students and partners say

Katarzyna
Capita

What started as a simple activity turned into something very entrepreneurial and educational for our future career journeys.
The pitching skills, teamwork spirit and support we acquired were phenomenally priceless. I hope you maintain the project for other students to experience the same."
Samuel Ayo

We received a few direct CVs which were the calibre of experience we are looking for."
Holly
Fit for Sport

I found the AWS hackathon to be interesting as it tested my ability to not only solve issues with technology, but to work with other individuals in the process. Thus, providing an experience unbeknownst by myself before the commencement of the hackathon. As a first year student with a goal of having a start-up, I believe this event was a valuable experience."

There are a lot of students who would be suited to ELBA's programme, and meeting them face to face has really helped us to gauge their needs.

Meet Employers FAQs
Who can attend employer events at UEL?
All current UEL students and recent graduates can attend employer events. Whether you’re just exploring options or actively applying for roles, these events are designed to support you. Some events are also open to alumni.
How do I find and book employer events, and is there a cost?
You can browse and book events through Career Zone – just log in and go to the events section. Most events require booking, so we can manage numbers. Employer events are usually free for UEL students and graduates.
How should I prepare for a careers fair or employer event?
To get the most from an event:
- Bring a few copies of your CV
- Check which employers are attending and shortlist your top choices
- Prepare questions about roles, graduate schemes and company culture
- Dress smartly to make a professional impression
A little preparation makes conversations easier and more meaningful.
Can I find jobs, internships or placements through these events?
Yes. Many employers use fairs, panels, networking events and hackathons to promote live vacancies. Some will accept CVs on the day or invite you to apply through their website. These events often lead to interviews, internships, placements and graduate roles.
I feel nervous about talking to employers. What support is there, and is it really worth going?
Feeling nervous is normal. UEL Career Coaches can help you practise introductions, improve your CV and prepare questions. Employers attend because they want to meet students and graduates. Even if you don’t leave with a job offer, you’ll gain confidence, insights into recruitment, and contacts for your professional network – all of which help your future career.
