How you'll learn

To make our MBA as accessible as possible, it is offered on a part-time daytime basis.

Our teaching is rooted in practical, real-world experience - making the most of our extensive links with major organisations based in Canary Wharf and East London, including Bloomberg, Accenture, and Barclaycard.

You will be taught through lectures, seminars, and workshops, working as part of a team to apply theory to practical matters; from producing business reports, plans, and presentations to solving business problems. We use real case studies from our business partners to give you an insight into the issues that major companies have to wrestle with, and how they solve them.

Our teaching is always innovative, fresh, and rooted in contemporary topics - we deliver events and workshops that explore topical issues and honour our commitment to civic engagement by holding workshops with Business in the Community (BITC) to help you see how businesses can have a positive impact on their local communities.

We also encourage and support students to obtain work experience or an internship while on the course.

Guided independent study

When not attending timetabled lectures or workshops, you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. This will typically involve skills development through online study, reading journal articles and books, working on individual and group projects and preparing coursework assignments and presentations. Your independent learning is supported by a range of excellent facilities including online resources, and specialist facilities, such as game labs, the library, the full Microsoft Office software, including MS Teams, and Moodle: our Virtual Learning Environment.

Academic support

Our academic support team provides help in a range of areas - including learning and disability support.

Dedicated personal tutor

When you arrive, we'll introduce you to your personal tutor. This is the member of staff who will provide academic guidance, be a support throughout your time at UEL and who will show you how to make the best use of all the help and resources that we offer.

How you'll be assessed

Each module is assessed separately - typically, there are two pieces of assessment for each taught module, so you will have four assessments to complete in each term. A typical mix could include an examination, two will be group projects, and one will be an individual report.

In addition, you will have, depending upon which option you choose, a further individual or group practical or theoretical research-based assessment.
