Your portfolio interview will be a 15-30 minutes one to one interview with a member of teaching staff.

I have applied for more than one UEL course

If the courses you have applied for require an interview- you maybe required to attend more than one interview on the same day. Please ensure your portfolio is suitable for all the course you have applied for.

Can I speak to staff and students?

Yes, teaching staff will be available on the day. In addition you may have the opportunity to speak to our students without teaching staff being present.

Can I see the facilities?

Yes definitely- teaching staff and or students will show you the course facilities like studios and workrooms.

please contact our residential services team in advance, email:

You are welcome to explore our campuses prior to and following your interview. Detailed campus tours are available during our offer holder days and open days.

Can I bring my family or a friend?

Yes, although they will not be able to attend the interview, they are welcome to join you in the tours and they can grab a tea or coffee in the Knowledge Dock or Costa while you are being interviewed.

Can I bring children?

You are welcome to bring children to the interview/test day but they must be accompanied by another adult. UEL staff cannot look after children while your interview/test is taking place and children must not be left unaccompanied anywhere on UEL premises. It is not appropriate for children to be in the interview with you as this would limit the ability for both you and the interviewer to hold an open conversation about future studies at UEL; similarly, children are not permitted in test/exam environments.

How long will the process last?

Your portfolio interview will be 10-20 minutes one to one interview with at least one senior member of the teaching staff who works on the programme that you have applied for. The portfolio day will start at 10am or 2pm and we expect that the whole process to last approximately 3 hours. If you are travelling a fair distance, why not plan your day so you can see what East London has to offer.

Can I park on campus?

Limited spaces are available, if you require a parking space please contact us in advance on 020 8223 3333 with your vehicle registration, make and model. Due to security protocols there is no parking available without prior notice.
