Build on your previous learning

At UEL, you can build on your previous learning, and your own experience, to gain your MA:

  • Accreditation for Prior Learning. Completed a PGCE, NPQ, or another relevant course with Masters credits? You can use those credits to reduce the number of modules you need to study to achieve a Master's in Leadership in Education. We will accept up to 60 credits (worth 2 modules) towards your MA. Please note, that applying for credits may impact the option to gain additional CMI qualifications.
  • We value your experience. Here at UEL, we value the experience of educational professionals. If you hold an educational responsibility, or leadership role or have undergone additional training that you feel has given you more experience as an educator, please contact us regarding experience-based accreditation. UEL can award additional credits for relevant experience – speak to us to find out more.

How you will be assessed

Due to the practical nature of the course, there are no examinations. We assess you on your coursework for the PG Certificate and PG Diploma modules and on your dissertation for the award of MA. Each module assessment will typically be a single submission portfolio of 5,000 words or equivalent. The dissertation is 14,000 words.
