Debating the Legal Status of the West Bank: Occupied Palestine or Disputed Territories?
In the last few months, Israeli plans to annex parts of the West Bank have been put on hold with the recognition of Israel by the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan. However, the Trump Plan envisages annexation of a third of the territory as part of a deal to create a small Palestinian State. Two legal specialists on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will debate the legal status of the territory and the implications this has for a resolution of the conflict.
The presentation will be led by Natasha Hausdorff, a Barrister at Six Pump Court Chambers and a Director of the NGO ‘UK Lawyers for Israel’ and Professor John Strawson, co-director of the Centre on Human Rights in Conflict.
