Pre-arrival checklist

1. Set up your University IT Account – Username and Password


A University of East London IT account provides access to our internal systems and software.  It is the essential starting point on your student journey, as it gives you access to everything connected to your studies.  Using your username and login you will be able to access:

  • Launchpad, our dedicated internal website for new students.  
  • Track My Future, our much bigger internal website for use throughout your studies.
  • UEL Direct, our system for viewing and updating your student record and much more!

Before you have enrolled, we will send you an email inviting you to enrol with us.  Follow the instructions on the email or view our page on how to set up your university IT Account

2. Complete Online Enrolment


With your IT account setup, it's now time to officially become a student of the University of East London!  Online enrolment involves confirmation of the details you entered on your application form, paying your tuition fees, registering your course modules and agreeing to the terms and conditions for your course of study.

3. Complete Your Course Preparation


Once you have set up your IT account visit our dedicated internal website for new students - Launchpad.  It contains information specially tailored to help you make a good start at our university. There' s a welcome from your Course Leader and contact details for your tutors, details of your first week schedule and what to expect, pre-arrival tasks to complete before you start, a link to your course timetable, top tips for learning and much more!  There is also a guide to our much bigger internal website, Track My Future, which you will use throughout your studies at our University.

5. Apply for On-Campus Accommodation


Situated on the waterfront at our Docklands Campus, our modern accommodation halls are close to teaching buildings, our sport & fitness facilities and the library.  We offer a free inter-campus bus service, which provides a convenient transport link to our Stratford and USS Campus too. Supermarkets and local amenities are a 10-minute walk away. Cyprus DLR train station is part of the campus, giving you a gateway to explore the rest of London. Our Halls have a 24/7 Security Reception who keep our 10 buildings safe, plus we have a dedicated Residential Life team with close links to University support services and social life.  Our prices vary with room type, but all rooms offer the privacy of being single en-suite.  We also offer additional value by including home contents insurance, utility bills and 5G Internet/Wi-Fi within our advertised prices; taking the stress out of managing multiple contracts and arranging a spread of payments to different providers.  We keep it simple so you can focus on your studies.

8. Sign up for Welcome Week
