BA (Hons) Film portfolio request
Thank you for your application to the University of East London. As part of the admissions process you are required to send a digital portfolio of your work.
What's required?
The portfolio is a very important part of the application process. It should reflect broad examples of your work. This will be used as evidence of your creative ability and potential.
Your portfolio should include:
- Your Personal Statement
- A showreel of 2-4 minutes in length
- Links to previous work, such as short films or videos. If you have studied A-Level or BTEC film or media, you can include work completed for these subjects.
- Additional works such as scripts, storyboards, sketches, design and photographic work, digital work, moving image and animation, social media content, works in progress.
- If you do not have any practical film work, we are also interested in writing, such as scripts, film reviews, video essays, and written essays.
You will be expected to display care and thought in the way that your portfolio is presented. We want to see your passion for your work and you’re expected to present the portfolio in a positive and interesting manner.
Tips and hints
- Include details of your role in the different elements of your portfolio. i.e. If you've worked on the sound only, say this. If you've done the cinematography or editing, please detail this too.
- You can include Social Media links.
- Example of a showreel.
How to send your portfolio?
Your portfolio must be a single PDF file or file containing a link to an online site.
Please note: We might not be able to consider your portfolio if it is not sent in one of the formats stated above.
You should send in the portfolio within two weeks from the date requested.
If you cannot meet this deadline please contact us otherwise your application may be withdrawn if we do not receive a response.
