Meet Hugues

Hugues, a Graphic Design graduate, found his creative voice at the University of East London. “I like my images to tell a story,” he says. As a sports photographer and activist, he captures everything from portraits to powerful movements like Black Lives Matter.

Between People is a public gallery and project space at the University of East London.

  • Clay studio

    Our Clay Studio has a range of facilities where students can hone their techniques by utilising moulds with a range of different materials from plaster to concrete.

  • Design workspace

    The design workspace offers a range of facilities including workshops on casting, welding and metalwork for sculpture and model making.

  • Way Out East gallery

    Our Way Out East gallery space is a great way for students to showcase and exhibit their work.

  • Photography Dark Room

    Our Analogue Darkroom offers film processing, scanning, alternative printing, and black & white printing.

  • Photography Studio

    The Immersive Space is a large lighting studio, offering specialist, movable green-screen set-ups with a range of fixed lighting in the space.

  • The Lightwell

    This is a teaching space that regularly hosts workshops and exhibitions.
