Our rowing club

    The UEL Boat Club (UELBC) is constantly growing and strives to recruit new members each academic year. The club provides opportunities for all members whether you are a complete beginner, novice, intermediate or high-performance rower. With the club’s successful ‘Learn 2 Row’ programme you are sure to receive professional and tailored training regimes based on each squad’s ability. 
     
    UELBC compete and excel in BUCS across a variety of competitions throughout each academic year including; Indoor Championships, Small Boats Head, 4’s & 8’s Head and the Regatta. The continued success and progression of the club was recently awarded as they won the 2017-18 Most Improved Club at the annual Sports Awards. 
    If you’re not a power rower, the club is always looking for people to cox, blog, write race reports and join the committee.

    Overview

    Facilities & Training

    The access to facilities and training you receive as a UELBC member are second to none. The club trains at the London Watersports Centre which offers spectacular views of Canary Wharf and the city of London while you’re out on the water. You will also have access to the indoor rowing water tank. 

    UELBC also train at SportsDock for weekly circuit training, strength & conditioning and indoor rowing sessions.

    UEL has supported me as a student and an athlete. The flexible elite athlete study policy allows me, as a sports scholar, to compete and train at the highest level whilst ensuring I have the flexibility to earn a degree.
