Why did you choose to study at UEL?
The quality of teaching and training.

What is your one special memory of your time at UEL?
I have 2!  When I received the Dr Abiola Ogunsola Community Award/First Class Degree in 2018. I also met His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II when he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University.

What have you done since graduating from UEL?
I did a master's course at University College London as well as recently qualified and soon to graduate as a Primary Teacher.

What is your current job role? And what does it involve?
I am working as a supply teacher, as I look for permanent employment.

How did UEL help you get to where you are now?
By giving me the confidence to believe in myself, especially as a mature student. I had low self-esteem but I have accomplished academic status as well as global award-winning research from UEL.

What advice would you give your younger self?
It is never too late to study. Believe in your own abilities and never allow anyone to put you down.
True love comes from loving and believing yourself. Make your dreams and work on them coming true.

What advice would you give to UEL current students preparing to graduate?
Volunteer in any organisation that links with your future career prospects. Register with different organisations in your industry to create networks.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know:
I recently joined one of my local running clubs and I can still sprint even though I am not a spring chicken anymore!!

If you were to do it all again, would you still choose UEL?
Yes, and that is why I chose to do my PGCE at UEL because it has always felt like my second home. I got work opportunities as well as developed long-lasting friendships with my lecturers/staff members.
