The University of East London Fashion Department is delighted to announce a new ground-breaking collaboration with award-winning designer agency Fashion Crossover London which will provide unique internship opportunities for MA students.
The exciting collaboration will give students on the MA International Business Fashion programme the chance to intern in various departments, including creative direction, e-commerce, business development and PR, at Fashion Crossover's studio.
For the past 10 years, Fashion Crossover London has partnered with Central St Martin (CSM) recruiting interns on prints and textiles programmes but this year, in a major coup for UEL, it has decided to forge this new collaboration.
UEL MA International Business Fashion programme director Kent Le, pictured, of the School of Arts and Creative Industries, said, "The company has a long-standing history of partnership with many prestigious universities such as CSM and Istituto Marangoni. I am delighted to announce that this year they have decided to now partner with our UEL fashion team.
"This is a very rare opportunity to work closely with fashion media leaders in the UK and obtain unique contacts that will no doubt benefit the students' networks in the future."
Fashion Crossover London was founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Since Wang with a clear vision of promoting slow fashion and sustainability while celebrating craftsmanship and individuality. The company champions emerging designers from around the world who support and share its core values, and connects them with international fashion buyers and industry professionals.
Its Graduate Talent Programme promotes recent graduate designers and their creations to its extensive network of contacts including stylists, magazine editors, social media influencers and buyers. The programme is highly-regarded in the industry.
The new collaboration with UEL will see International Fashion Business students given the opportunity to pitch an idea, either creative or business based, to Fashion Crossover London clients. The winner(s), who will be decided jointly by Fashion Crossover CEO Since Wang, and UEL's Kent Le, will receive an eight-week internship in their Canary Wharf head office in London.
Since Wang said: "Kent and I have known each other in professional capacity for a while, I am always motivated by Kent's innovation of bringing new ideas to the students at UEL, as such I am really pleased we got this project off the ground this year. I am excited to see how students translate their academic knowledge to industry solutions and apply them through real life cases and work experience."
Previous Fashion Crossover London internships have included opportunities to work at the Brit Awards, Cannes Film Festival and the BAFTAs.
