OVERVIEW
As well as teaching, Pol started an award winning Design Practice in 2014 after winning an international design competition. Pol has worked for Grimshaw Architects (Eden Project), Hopkins Architects (Olympic Velodrome) and Sarah Wigglesworth Architects (Sandal Magna School) before curating a new type of studio culture encapsulating art, design and place-making. Pol leads his team of designers gathered from all over the world. Pol bases himself in East London, with ZAP outposts in Donegal and Barcelona.
ZAP is a high end design collaborative blurring the boundaries between art and architecture. Pol’s work ranges from commercial buildings to high end fashion events, bespoke furniture, animated gardens to pop-up restaurants. Creativity is something Pol lives and breathes in the ZAP office. The Architect’s Journal cited ZAP as the “young one’s to watch” and Pol strives to bring this energy into the UEL classroom with promising UEL students.
