- MScEcon in Archives Administration from Aberystwyth University
- MScEcon in Information and Library Studies from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth
- BA (Hons) Degree in History from the University of Southampton
Areas Of Interest
I am an archivist and teach two modules. My research interests are focused on refugee history and the role of archives in documenting and preserving the personal narratives and life histories of migration.
OVERVIEW
Paul has over 20 years’ experience working within higher education archives. Paul’s research interests include the archival methodologies and the role of archives in the representation of the lives experiences of displacement.
External roles
Paul is involved with activities within the fields of archives and refugee/migration issues. Paul is the Editor for the journal Displaced Voices: A Journal of Archives, Migration and Cultural Heritage hosted on our Living Refugee Archive online portal. Additionally, Paul is a co-convenor of the IASFM (International Association for the Study of Forced Migration) Working Group on the History of Forced Migration and Refugees: An International Working Group for Archiving and Documentation
Paul is also an external dissertation examiner at the Centre for Archive and Information Studies at the University of Dundee. Paul is also actively involved with the UEL Centre for Research on Refugees, Migration and Belonging, (CMRB).
CURRENT RESEARCH
My current research focuses on our Documenting Chile Archive project which represents a participatory and community-focused archive project engaging with the Chilean community both within London and across the United Kingdom. Further information on this project is available though the Living Refugee Archive.
