OVERVIEW
Having worked as a lawyer for several years (in both Criminal Law as a Duty Solicitor and in Family Law as a Legal Advisor in the Family Court), I have a solid practice-based background that informs my pedagogical approach.
I am passionate about helping students to achieve their career goals in law: my teaching enables students to learn transferable professional skills, which give them the edge when applying for jobs in the legal market. As a practising solicitor, part of my role is to supervise students who are interviewing and advising real clients in the UEL Legal Advice Centre, allowing them to have invaluable legal work experience while remaining on-site.
My areas of research interest are in the social justice aspect of Family Law, and particularly the impact of the current legal framework on cohabitation on racially minoritised women.
