OVERVIEW
Before joining the University of East London in 2022 I was a detective sergeant with 20 years of operation and leadership experience with Thames Valley police. For the last 10 years, I worked primarily in safeguarding vulnerable people. I have worked in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and for the last four years in the Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU) where I led a small team of detectives and managed serious complex crimes committed against children. During my career in policing, I also studied at Portsmouth University and completed a Foundation degree in Policing followed by a Master's in Police Science and Management. I have recently submitted my PhD proposal on the theme of decision-making in policing.
