LOCATION AND CAMPUS
East London is our home, but we’re also well connected to the rest of the capital and world!
The University of East London is based in two superbly located campuses – in Stratford, close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and in London Docklands, near Royal Albert Dock.
Stratford campus
Our historic Stratford
campus is in one of the best-connected areas of London: close to Stratford’s
thriving town centre, the 2012 Olympic Park, Westfield and just 15 minutes from
London’s West End.
Facilities include: a new library and learning centre,
upgraded laboratories and computing services. The School of Education and
Communities, and Centre for Clinical Education in Podiatry, Physiotherapy and
Sports Science are housed in new buildings. There is also a campus restaurant
and bookshop, and a Students’ Union café-bar.

Docklands campus
Our waterfront campus in
the historic Royal Docks provides
a modern, well-equipped learning environment, with modern lecture theatres and
seminar rooms, a 24/7 library and learning centre, and a multimedia production
centre - complete with audio and visual labs and studios.
UEL is one of the few
London universities to provide on campus accommodation. Our Docklands Campus Student Village houses
close to 1,200 students, serviced by two on-campus launderettes and other
campus amenities.
Features include: our 24/7 Docklands library, our
£21m SportsDock centre, a campus shop and bookstore, the Children’s Garden
Nursery, cafés, eateries, a late bar, plus Student Union facilities, including
a student lounge.

East London
Watch our current students Bianca and Einer as they show you around some of their favourite spots for food and activities in East London. All of which are within easy reach from the university campuses. (Please note, footage was filmed prior to Covid-19. )

EAST LONDON SPORT AND SPORTSDOCK
East
London Sport and SportsDock have a multitude of programmes and activities you can
take part in during your studies. With 26 different sports clubs, a world-class
sports centre, over 20 free sports sessions each week and some of the best
athletes in the UK studying here, we can truly count ourselves among the very
best in London for university sports.
The
achievements and developments within sport at UEL over the last six years has
been largely influenced by our fabulous range of partnerships. At UEL, we
believe in working in collaboration and utilising the assets, strengths and
networks of partners from across the UK.
We partner
with many professional, amateur and community sports clubs alongside a wide and
varied network of associations, such as national governing bodies of sport,
sports foundations, charities and businesses.
Find out more on our sports pages.

DUAL DELIVERY
Pro Vice Chancellor, Education and Experience, Charles Egbu, explains how courses have been delivered under the new dual delivery educational framework since September 2020.
No one can predict what 2021 will look like, however we do know
that Covid-19 is creating a new normal, whereby people will want to choose
their learning between learning together in a physical and a digital world to
suit them.
From September 2020, UEL offered a dual delivery educational model that
introduced face-to-face teaching alongside our innovative online delivery,
which saw plans for a safe covid-secure phased re-opening of our campuses a
success.
If you have any questions about our dual delivery educational framework
and what studying under the framework looks like, join our live Q&A session at 19:35.
More information, including FAQ’s and step-by-step guides to our new
safety protocols and dual delivery learning model, can be found at our Return to Campus page.

FAQs
FAQs – Home/EU students
In light of the current situation surrounding COVID-19 and with the safety of our staff, students and visitors in mind, we have taken the decision to cancel all our scheduled undergraduate and postgraduate on-campus events and instead run online events which you will be able to join from any location.
You can call to speak with our Applicant Relations or Admissions Teams on 020 4509 1460 or you can complete the Call Back Form and a member of the team will be in touch.
How do I choose the right course for me?
Selecting a course is vital. Our Applicant Relations team is available on email at study@uel.ac.uk to provide support if you are unsure about a course being right for you. Alternatively, you can send an enquiry to our Information Advice and Guidance team.
What information should I gather before applying?
Before you make your application make sure you have the following ready:
1. Personal Statement
Personal statements are very important as it gives you the opportunity to write your motives for wanting to study the course of your choice. For assistance on writing your supporting statement visit the UCAS supporting statement page or speak to our Information Advice and Guidance team.
2. Information on your qualification/s
You will need to confirm level of qualification/s, awarding body and grade. Please note, we require a copy of your qualifications at the point of application and we may request to see the hard copy when you enrol. For certificates which may have been misplaced or lost, it would be a good idea to request replacement, so you have them ready for enrolment.
3. References
For your application we require at least one reference. Your referee can be either your tutors or employers. Please note we cannot accept references from family members, or friends.
4. English Language
If your undergraduate degree is not from the UK, we may require evidence of a satisfactory English Language qualification or test.
When should I submit my application?
Applications for our January 2021 and September 2021 courses are now open.
How do I apply?
January 2021 - Applications for full time undergraduate courses can be made via our website.
September 2021 - Applications for full time undergraduate courses are made via UCAS here.
For undergraduate part time courses, please submit your application directly to UEL here.
How much does it cost to apply?
The course fee for full time applications submitted via UCAS is £20 (for a single choice) and £25 for multiple courses. For part time applications submitted directly to UEL, there is no application fee.
How will my application be assessed?
At UEL we take a broad ranging holistic view of all
applications we receive; we look at the Applicant and not just the
application – the things we look at include:
- Qualifications achieved prior to your application
- Predicted grades of any qualifications you are currently studying
- Personal statement
- Prior work experience and skills gained
- Portfolio of work (where appropriate)
- Interview/assessment/audition (where appropriate)
How long will it take to get a decision?
We aim to come back to you regarding your application within 10 working days. For courses that require portfolios / interviews / auditions this may take slightly longer.
How do I track the progress or my application?
If you have applied via UCAS, you can log in to your UCAS
Track.
If you applied direct to UEL you will be able to check
progress and contact Admissions via your UEL Applicant Portal – a link to this
will be sent upon completion of the direct application.
