What we’re researching
The world of finance, banking and economics has undergone a seismic shift in recent years as global economies nose-dived into recession and major political events unfolded in the wake of international financial crises.
Our teams are researching many of the issues that are headline news, keeping up to date with modern trends and new ways of thinking. It means you’ll be taught by people with a passionate interest in passing on the very latest knowledge and understanding.
For example, Dr Shampa Roy-Mukherjee, Head of Finance, Economics and Risk, is researching the economics of the Arab Spring and social exclusion in developing economies.
Senior Lecturer Dr Tat-Lung Chan has research interests that include high-frequency trading and risk management, while Senior Lecturer Eric Owusu Boahen researches financial reporting and corporate governance and auditing.
Other research interests of our academic team include corporate and behavioural finance, valuation, fund management, privatisation, the management of financial institutions and Islamic banking.
