Offer Holder Day FAQs

If you came to our Open Day you will have gained some first impressions and hopefully been impressed with what you saw and the academic team that you met.  The Offer Holder Day is all about building on that, taking more time to get to know the lecturers and tutors; asking any questions that have occurred to you since the Open Day; and getting a better feel for the course and the team.

It’s also a great opportunity to meet people that will be on your course and start to make friends ahead of September.  And there will of course be current students around to talk to.  Their point of view will be really useful to you.

This event is a great opportunity for you to meet other people who have offers on your course, they could be your future classmates.

You can meet your lecturers who will be teaching you and find out more information about module content on the course.

It’s a great chance for you to meet with current students and hear about their experiences and learn some top tips and get some advice on anything from, where is good to go out, what it’s like to be a student and what academic support UEL offers.

Find out more about the exciting taster sessions we have planned for you.
All offer holders will be invited to attend the event except for those looking to study Media and Humanities Foundation, Nursing, Podiatry and Physiotherapy – some of these programmes are invited to a separate event.
Absolutely! You are more than welcome to bring family along with you, we understand that your family is a crucial part of this important stage in your life.

However, we can only allow you to bring a maximum of two guests due to health and safety regulations. When you register to attend the Offer Holder day there is a section on the booking form when you can specify if you would like to bring a guest or two.

We think it’s important that you attend the taster sessions on your own, though.  So, we also have a parents and guests lounge where while you are enjoying your taster session or mini-lecture your family will get the opportunity to hear more about the university and get some of their questions answered.

You can check which campus your taster session is running at.
We would prefer that you did book to attend the Offer Holder Day, but we will always welcome walk-ins if you haven’t had time to book.

Come along and hear from senior members of your college, students and alumni that have been where you are and want to tell you why UEL is an amazing place to study. It’s also an opportunity to ask questions to some of the most senior members of staff at UEL.

Following the welcome talk you’ll be separated from your parents (briefly) and taken to your subject taster session and this session will relate the programme you have chosen to study in September 2018. The taster sessions have been designed to deepen your understanding of the course you are interested in and allow you to experience life as a student at UEL.

Here's full list of taster sessions happening at this time.

Lunch will be provided during the taster session so don’t worry we won’t let you go hungry!
This talk will provide an overview of the government student finance package available for students commencing an undergraduate programme in September 2018.  In addition, this talk will outline the attractive portfolio of UEL scholarships and bursaries available. This talk is aimed at Home and EU prospective students.
At this talk you’ll hear from our current students and you’ll discover that the classroom isn’t the only place you’ll meet friends for life. There are plenty of extracurricular activities for those looking to socialise on campus. With up to 60 societies and clubs running each year, it’s easy to meet people and get involved at UEL.
