Congratulations! You're in.

Welcome to the University of East London and the start of an exciting academic journey. You’ll have some important enrolment and induction tasks to do in your first week to prepare you for your studies. But the first few days are also about settling in, joining societies, making new friends and having fun.
  • KEEP AN EYE OUT

Keep an eye on your emails for regular updates on induction week, enrolment and other important things you need to know or do before you arrive. Not long now!

  • MONEY, MONEY, MONEY

Don't forget to organise your finances. Some students will be eligible for government loans, so make sure you've got your application done and dusted so the only thing you're worrying about is what to pack!
  • GET INVOLVED

Enjoy our Welcome Weekend festival and Welcome Fair, but don’t stay on campus all week. Get out there and enjoy the most exciting quarter of the world’s greatest city!

Freshers Checklist

Before you arrive there's some things you need to do to make sure you're all set up to start, then you'll have plenty of time to meet new people and explore.

We want you to have a good start to your studies here at UEL, so it's good to make sure you've organised your finances well in advance. Our fees and funding pages have all the information you need to get your monies in place for your start.

The Student Room has a section dedicated to student finance on their website which is also incredibly helpful.

Undergraduate

If you're an undergraduate student applying for a loan, we strongly advise you to get your application completed by the end of May, if you're starting in September.

Student Finance England have made a really helpful video to talk you through the apply process.

Postgraduate

A new Postgraduate Loan is available which could help you to pay for your course and living costs while you study a Master’s course. Watch Student Finance England’s range of films for more information.

Applications for Postgraduate Loans are due to open in late June.

If you've already got a room in our Student Village, you will arrive during our Welcome Weekend to pick up your key. Accommodation will be in touch about time slots in due course.

You’re welcome to bring a car on to campus to drop off your luggage, but please be aware that there is limited space for unloading and parking on campus, and Welcome Weekend can get very busy.

Once you’ve unloaded and arrived in your new room, it’s time to familiarise yourself with your surroundings and introduce yourself to your flatmates or neighbours.

If you still need to get in an application, check out our Accommodation pages on how to apply.

It's time to put Welcome Week on your calendar!

We're so excited to meet you, we'll have really fun things going on all week so keep checking your emails, the website and our social media to make sure you're up to date!

Enrolment will open in the summer, if you're starting in September.

If you've got an unconditional offer from us and have selected UEL as your firm choice you will receive an email from our registry department in once enrolment has opened with information on how to enrol online.

If your offer is still conditional you will receive information once you've met the conditions of your offer.

Joining a club or society is a great way for you to meet new people in advance and create some really great friendships here at the University.

Find out more about how to join a society, explore student and campus life, getting around and going out.

You can start getting to know us through our social media channels, read up about what's on and see inspiring news stories.
