An Evening With Alison Steadman

UEL students

The University of East London is continuing its prestigious 'An Evening With’ series by welcoming UEL honorary graduate Alison Steadman OBE to our University Square Stratford building.

The much-loved British actress, whose recent work includes BBC TV’s Gavin and Stacey and Pride and Prejudice, will talk about her experiences during a showbiz career spanning six decades in what promises to be an entertaining evening of humour and nostalgia.

Alison won the 1991 National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for the Mike Leigh film Life is Sweet, and the 1993 Olivier Award for Best Actress for her role as Mari in the original production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. In a 2007 Channel 4 poll – ‘50 Greatest Actors’, which was voted for by other actors – Alison was ranked No 42.

If you are unable to attend the event you can watch the live stream here.
