Applying for Student Finance and Scholarships

Thinking about how you’ll fund your studies? This practical session will guide you through the process of applying for Student Finance and show you how to make the most of the scholarships and bursaries available.
We’ll explain:
- How Student Finance works and what support you may be eligible for
- When and how to apply – and why it’s important to apply early
- What documents and information you’ll need for your application
- The scholarships and bursaries available at UEL and how to apply for them
- Where to find reliable advice and support if you get stuck
By the end of the webinar, you’ll know exactly what to do next, so your funding is in place and ready for when you start your course. There’ll also be time for a live Q&A with our team.
Budgeting for Life at University

Starting university is an exciting milestone, but managing your money for the first time can feel daunting. This practical webinar will help you understand what budgeting at university really looks like and give you the confidence to plan ahead.
In this session, we’ll explore:
- The typical costs you might encounter in your first year, including accommodation, food, travel, course materials and social activities
- How expenses can vary depending on your lifestyle, study choice and personal circumstances
- Tips for creating a realistic budget that works for you
- Financial support options, student discounts and part-time work opportunities available to help you stay in control
- The university services that can support you in managing your money throughout your studies

Ready to start picturing where you’ll live as a UEL student? This webinar will guide you through everything you need to know about applying for student accommodation and finding the right option for you.

- The different types of accommodation available to UEL students
- How and when to apply for a room
- Key deadlines, contracts and what’s included in your rent
- Tips on choosing the right accommodation based on your budget and lifestyle
- What support is available if you have specific needs or are moving away from home for the first time

Mature Students – Your Questions Answered

In this session, we’ll showcase:

- How you can get involved in sports, clubs, volunteering, and campus-wide celebrations
- Tips on making the most of your time at university, forming connections and building your confidence
