Emergency services courses
Emergency services courses
The emergency services offer a reliable and rewarding career than is currently in demand in London and across the UK.
At the University of East London, we strive to make a lasting impact on our local community and every year our students embark on placements working as student nurses, physiotherapists and podiatrists in hospitals as well as special constables with local police forces.
These placements position you to gain employment in these highly employable roles soon after graduation.
Policing
UEL, through the Centre of Professional Policing (CoPP) offers a specific pre-join degree into policing.
We work closely with law enforcement agencies, including the Metropolitan Police, to ensure our courses address current issues in crime. Our academics are experts in areas including gang crime, cybercrime and counter-terrorism.
Paramedic science and allied health
UEL has been providing education for subjects leading to careers in Healthcare since 1982 when we started offering the first BSc degree in Physiotherapy. We are also the only university in London to offer a degree in Podiatry.
Through our close relationships with NHS trusts in east London and beyond, we are developing new programmes in Paramedic Science and Occupational Therapy, both starting in 2021 subject to validation & confirmation.
Nursing
On our BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) course, launched in 2018, you'll learn how to observe patients and assess their physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
You'll develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to plan and deliver the most appropriate care for them and evaluate the results, in both hospital and out of hospital settings.
