Digital Portfolio

The portfolio is a very important and essential part of the application process. It’s what you will use to gain entry to any course or role you apply for in the creative sector. If this is your first portfolio enjoy the process, it’s a great opportunity to get an overview of all the things you’ve achieved so far.

We are keen for students to show us examples in as many different mediums as possible. We like to see the creative and planning parts to (thoughts, ideas and experiments) which have helped to realise a piece or series of pieces. Showing your skills is important, but also try to reflect your own personal interests.

How should I send my portfolio?

You should upload a portfolio of your current work to support your application. Your portfolio must be a single PDF file or file containing a link to an online site.

Please note: We will not be able to consider your portfolio if it is not sent in one of the formats stated above.

When should I send my portfolio?

You should send in the portfolio within 2 weeks from the date requested. If you cannot meet this deadline please contact us otherwise your application may be withdrawn if we do not receive a response.

What do you expect to see in a portfolio?

What we would like to see in your portfolio:

  • Sketchbooks full of ideas and visual experimentation.
  • Drawing skills – observational drawing, mark making and colour experiments.
  • Evidence of self-initiated projects/work/blogs
  • Evidence of visual research – gallery and museum visits/magazines, documentaries etc
  • Evidence and knowledge of techniques relevant to Fine Art, such as collage, printing, animation, sculpture, film and photography.

This is not an exhaustive list; you may have lots of other intriguing stuff to show us. We are looking for students with a passion for art and learning, students who are willing to try lots of things and show initiative in driving their vision forward. Good luck..
