Thank you for applying to the BA (Hons) Music (Performance/Technology and Production) course at the University of East London. 

As part of your application, you must submit a digital portfolio that shows your musical ability, production skills and creative engagement with music.

What’s required?

Your portfolio must include: 

  • Music production work: Original pieces you have created using a DAW (digital audio workstation). State which DAW you used (e.g., Logic Pro, Ableton, Pro Tools).
  • Music performance: A live performance recording of your own music or a cover performance. This may be solo or as part of a group.
  • Demonstration of skills and technique: Your portfolio should clearly show your ability in both music performance and music production that relate to your chosen course pathways. 

The work you submit should represent your current skills and creative engagement with music. Be sure to prioritise your best and most relevant work.

How should I send my portfolio?

  • Prepare your submission file: A single PDF or Word document no larger than 10 MB. Include live links to your audio/video hosted on platforms such as SoundCloud, Bandcamp, YouTube or similar.
  • Access for review: If your links or files are password-protected, add the password in the document so we can view your work.
  • Submit on time: Upload your portfolio within two weeks of receiving the request. If you cannot meet this deadline, contact Admissions early to avoid delays or withdrawal of your application.

Key things to note

  • Your portfolio should be clear, easy to navigate, and presented professionally.
  • Do not send multiple separate files - combine everything into one document with links.
  • Ensure all links work and are accessible when viewed by the admissions team.
