BA (Hons) Music Performance and Production Portfolio Request
BA (Hons) Music Performance and Production Portfolio Request
Thank you for your application to the BA (Hons) Music Performance and Production course at the University of East London. As part of the admissions process you are required to send a digital portfolio of your work.
How should I send my portfolio?
Please upload a portfolio of your current work to support your application. Your portfolio should be a link to any social media platform where we can review your work (video and/or audio).
What does my portfolio need to show?
This programme is concerned with performing and producing contemporary popular music.
You’ll create and examine your own work and that of others to understand how music functions and how your own work is influenced by genre as well as social context.
We work collaboratively with other programmes so that you can understand the way music interacts with different disciplines and also how to work professionally with others. These include:
- Music Technology & Production [MTP]
- Film
- Fashion
- Acting
- Dance
- Media and
- Journalism
We spend time helping you create your own musical style and image and help you develop music performance skills and an understanding of music theory.
In production modules you will learn about recording studio practice and music software programmes, all industry standards.
You will have performance opportunities and build your own professional-style portfolio of work over the three years of the programme.
To process your application, we will require you to send a portfolio of your work for review. This should include your best work that gives a view of you as a performer (in music) and/or as a producer i.e. music that you have produced yourself, without the help of others (send an audio file, with explanations of which DAW you have used and how you have created your music).
How will I know the outcome?
We will notify you of the outcome through your UCAS Track or we will send you an email with our decision. If you receive a place at UEL you will be required to accept/decline your place as per UCAS deadlines/the deadline in your email.
We look forward to seeing your work.
