Thank you for applying to the BA (Hons) Dance course at the University of East London. To complete your application, you must submit an e-audition file that demonstrates your movement ability, creativity, and potential as a dance artist.
Dance e-audition FAQs
What’s required from the e-audition?
Your e-audition should include all of the following:
Your contact details
- Full name
- Email address
- Contact number
A dance video link
- Upload one solo demonstration video to YouTube or Vimeo.
- The video must be no longer than two minutes and should show your movement range, musicality, body control, and performance skills.
- You may choose any dance style that best reflects your training and interests.
Written responses to the following questions (typed clearly in your submission):
- Where you live and how you became interested in studying Dance.
- Why you are interested in this course compared with other dance courses.
- How you found out about the UEL course.
- Do you know anyone studying or graduated here?
- One professional dance work that inspires you and why.
- Which skills you will need to transition successfully to university dance study.
- Which areas of the dance industry interest you for your future career.
Tips and hints
We want to see your authentic movement style and creativity. Your solo can be:
- Structured (fully choreographed)
- Semi-structured (part choreography, part improvised)
- Freestyle or improvised
Focus on the fundamentals of movement and performance:
- Body control and articulation
- Musicality and dynamics
- Breath and intention in movement
- Clear performance presence

How to send your e-audition file?
- Save all components (video link + written answers) in a single PDF file.
- Upload your PDF to your Applicant Portal within two weeks of receiving this request. If you cannot meet this deadline, contact Admissions immediately to avoid your application being withdrawn
