In-person interview information for BSc (Hons) Podiatry
Thank you for your application to the University of East London.
As part of the application process, all suitable applicants will be required to attend an interview.
What do I need to know before I arrive?
Familiarise yourself with the course page. You will also need to demonstrate a good understanding of the degree subject as a career and be able to justify why you would you make a good candidate on the course.
Can I request an alternate date?
There is always high demand for the limited number of places on our course. Therefore, if you request an alternative date, unfortunately there is no guarantee that we will be able to offer you one. We understand that it is not always possible for applicants to attend, so we will do our best to accommodate you if you do need another date. To avoid disappointment, please try to attend the date that you have been offered.
You can request an alternative date through the Applicant Portal – Your login instructions have been sent to you separately.
Where will the interview take place?
University of East London
Stratford campus
Water Lane
London, E15 4LZ
United Kingdom
Unfortunately there is no parking available on site.
On arrival, please report to the Great Hall.
What should I expect on the day?
The interview will include a face-to-face interview. You can also attend a talk on the subject area and tour of the University facilities.
We will be assessing your communication skills, your knowledge of the profession and your ability to contribute to group discussions. In line with the NHS values based recruitment strategy we will be looking for the behaviours and attributes that are essential in a healthcare professional.
In preparation for this we attach a link to the NHS Constitution. You should read this and be prepared to discuss and/or write about two of the six values. Give examples of how you reflect these values.
Can I bring children?
You are welcome to bring children to the interview day but they must be accompanied by another adult. UEL staff cannot look after children while your interview is taking place and children must not be left unaccompanied anywhere on UEL premises. It is not appropriate for children to be in the interview with you as this would limit the ability for both you and the interviewer to hold an open conversation about future studies at UEL; similarly, children are not permitted in test/exam environments.
How will I be notified of the outcome?
We will notify you of the outcome of your interview through your UCAS Hub account and we will send you an email with our decision.
Due to high demand, we are unable to provide detailed individual feedback. We only accept one application per cycle; you may reapply for the following year if you are unsuccessful on this occasion.
