UEL Open Days - What to expect
Our open events are your opportunity to experience life as a UEL student, whether you’re exploring undergraduate options, thinking about postgraduate study, or considering a career change.

At a UEL Open Day, you can:

- Meet lecturers, tutors and researchers who can answer your questions

These events are designed to help you decide what to study and where to study, in a friendly and informative environment.
What happens at an Open Event?
Undergraduate Sessions - Explore our wide range of undergraduate courses, learn about teaching styles and discover what it’s like to live and study in East London. You’ll meet course teams, ask questions and get a feel for life on campus.
Postgraduate Sessions - Find out how postgraduate study can enhance your career. Learn about research opportunities, flexible study options, and the support available to postgraduate students. Network with academics and current postgraduate students to gain insight into advanced study at UEL.
Across both undergraduate and postgraduate Open Days, you can expect:
- Campus tours and facility visits
- Subject talks and real-world insights
- Application and funding guidance
- Q&A sessions with staff and students
You’ll also have opportunities to explore accommodation, learn about global opportunities and discover support tailored to your aspirations.

Travel Support Fund
We don’t want travel costs to stop you from visiting UEL. If you’re a prospective UK student attending a selected on-campus event, you may be able to claim up to £50 for eligible public transport journeys. Eligibility criteria and caps apply. General and registration
How do I book to attend an Open Event?
Just complete our online Open Event registration form to book your place for either an undergraduate or postgraduate event.
Can I bring guests?
Absolutely — family, partners, friends and other supporters are welcome to join you
Will I receive a follow-up email when I register?
Yes. After registration you’ll receive a confirmation email, and a QR code ticket will be sent closer to the event date. You’ll need the QR code to check in on the day.
Is there a quieter registration option?
Yes. If you prefer a calmer start to your visit, quiet registration is available at selected campuses (e.g., Docklands Campus main reception during specified times). Staff will be on hand to support you.
What if I have accessibility requirements?
We aim to make our events inclusive and accessible for everyone. If you have specific requirements, you can indicate these when you register or contact us in advance so we can support you on the day. Our contact email address is recruitmentevents@uel.ac.uk.
Is parking available?
Yes. Parking is available at the Docklands and Stratford campuses, although spaces are limited and operate on a first-come, first-served basis during the day.
Please note that the Stratford campus car park is currently partially closed and can only be accessed via Fern Road.
Parking is not available at University Square Stratford; however, the Water Lane car park is located a short walking distance away.
