Hospital training hub
Our Hospital & Primary Care Training Hub is an inter-professional simulation suite is equipped with augmented and virtual reality equipment and virtual placement software. Cutting-edge tools include two SimMan 3G Plus, high-tech patient simulator mannequins, who are able to display neurological as well as physiological symptoms including sweating and crying.
Kajeanna's story
Kajeanna decided to study nursing when her father became ill with a kidney failure and she was inspired by the nurses who helped deliver his treatment. She joined the University of East London with the vision of becoming a qualified nurse, enabling her to pursue a career that supports others in need.
Banjo's story
Banjo had been set on pursuing a career in nursing since the age of 12, when he was taking care of his grandma when she was ill. Banjo decided to study nursing at the University of East London because of our diverse community, the quality of teaching, and the world class healthcare facilities we have available at our Stratford campus.

Our facilities
Clinical training facilities
Based at Stratford Campus, our Centre for Clinical Education provides clinical training facilities in nursing, with industry-standard equipment and four large dedicated practical teaching rooms all with integrated Audio Visual displays. Students constantly report their satisfaction with the practical facilities and how much they enjoy learning in this environment.
Simulation Centre
Our new £250,000 Simulation Centre boasts cutting-edge tools including 'Stan', a high-tech patient simulator mannequin. UEL hopes the new nursing course will help address the acute shortage of nurses in east London and the aim is to train local people for local jobs.

What we're researching
Our research in the area of Allied Health Professions (Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy) was a big winner in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework - the six-yearly national review of research quality in higher education. An expert panel rated 72 per cent of our allied health research as world-leading/internationally excellent overall.
Our research into public health links in with UEL's internationally-renowned Institute for Connected Communities (ICC), which regularly carries out research across the UK and also overseas. The ICC has been heavily involved in more than 50 significant projects since its foundation in 2006. UEL staff and students have researched into and developed programmes to improve health and wellbeing, particularly in some of London's poorest communities.
We're making a major contribution to evidence-based rehabilitation through our work with the Human Motor Performance Research Group (HMPG). This brings together a multi-disciplinary team of clinical scientists with backgrounds in physiotherapy, podiatry, neuroscience, biomechanical research, sports science and sociology.
