State-of-the-art bioscience facilities

We have eight teaching laboratories at our London-based Stratford campus, including a multi-purpose STEM lab with a capacity for 120 students, and six dedicated research laboratories, including a mammalian tissue culture lab, a Pharmacology Lab, Analytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science lab, and a Medical Physiology lab.

We have several courses accredited by the following professional bodies: the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry.   • Analytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science Lab

    This lab is well equipped with modern instruments that are used in pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies, environmental agencies and related sectors

  • Pharmacology Lab

    In the Pharmacology laboratory students use pharmaceutical industry standard organ bath set ups to learn on the effect of drugs on biological molecules and on drug-to-drug interactions.

  • STEM Lab

    We were awarded a £1.2 million grant from the Higher Education Funding Council for England to build a new high-tech super-lab.

  • Tissue Culture Lab

    The tissue culture lab is equipped with a range of high-tech equipment including tissue culture hoods, incubators, upright, inverted and LCD screen attached microscopes and a refrigerated centrifuge.

  • Medical Physiology Lab

    Our medical physiology lab is equipped with state-of-the-art sports training equipment and metabolic analysers.
