Wheelchair basketball is one of the university’s fastest growing clubs. We’re one of just nine universities with a BUCS programme and we participate in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) as the East London Phoenix.
The Wheelchair Basketball scholarship programme provides extensive on and off court support with a development focus for players to continue to challenge themselves. Players will have opportunities to be on the court at least 4 times a week across individual and team sessions with a chance for further opportunities at club level.
Our programme is led by Former GB international and 2-time Paralympian Ade Orogbemi who has over 20 years of Wheelchair Basketball experience both domestically and overseas.
Our WPL side (East London Phoenix) includes high level athletes including multiple GB internationals.
