Academic writing and English support
Our English tutors can help you to develop your academic writing, language and research skills. We encourage independent thinking and show you ways to build upon your existing knowledge and techniques. Book into a workshop to see how we can help you to improve your skills.

- Improve your grammar and punctuation
- Read effectively, especially in terms of analysing sources

Maths and Statistics support
Our maths tutors can help you develop your skills in mathematics, statistics and numeracy. We encourage independent thinking by showing you ways to build upon your existing knowledge and techniques.

Royal Literary Fund Fellows
UEL is fortunate to have two RLF Fellows, professional writers who are available to help students improve any aspect of their academic writing, including planning, structure, style, referencing, critical thinking, grammar and punctuation.
Our Fellows, Ian Ayris and Luiza Sauma, offer confidential one-to-one appointments at the Docklands and Stratford campuses, and online. Students can see the Fellows more than once, if necessary. There are also extensive resources for students on the RLF website.
Bethany Rutter
Bethany is the author of five novels for adults and young people. She is seeing students at the Docklands campus on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during term time. To book an appointment please email bethany.rutter@rlfeducation.org.uk
Luiza Sauma
Luiza is a novelist and journalist. She is seeing students at the Stratford campus and online on Mondays during term time. To book an appointment please email luiza.sauma@rlfeducation.org.uk.
