Meeting teacher training entry requirements
To meet Initial Teacher Training (ITT) requirements, all applicants must provide evidence that they meet the course entry criteria.
After you submit your application, we will email you a link to the Applicant Portal, where you can upload the required documents.
Evidence required
You must provide evidence that you meet the following entry requirements.
Degree qualification
Provide a clear scan or photograph of your:
- Degree certificate
- Degree transcript
Your certificate must show:
- Name of the award
- Subject studied
- Final grade
- Award date
- Awarding institution
GCSE requirements
You must provide evidence of:
- GCSE English Language (minimum grade C/4)
- GCSE Mathematics (minimum grade C/4)
- GCSE Science (minimum grade C/4) – Primary teaching applicants only
For each qualification, provide a clear scan or photograph of your original certificate.
Important requirements
- Statements of results or provisional certificates are not accepted
- Functional Skills qualifications are not accepted
If your qualification was awarded outside the UK, you must also provide a UK ENIC (formerly NARIC) statement confirming equivalency.
If you do not have your GCSE certificates
If you do not have your certificates, you should contact the exam board that issued your GCSEs and request a replacement. This will incur a fee and may take several weeks, so you should do this as soon as possible.
If you do not know which exam board you used, or your qualification does not meet the GCSE grade C/4 standard, you will need to take an approved equivalency test (such as A Star Equivalency.).
You will need to:
- Book and pay for the test online
- Allow up to two weeks to receive your results
