Humanitarian Intervention by Distance Learning Interview
Humanitarian Intervention by Distance Learning Interview
Thank you for applying for the Masters of Science in Humanitarian Intervention at UEL. Admission onto the course is subject to successfully passing the interview process, so please read the following information carefully.
Confirming your interview
We will offer a choice of three dates and time slots for you to select the most suitable one. To choose your date, please respond to our interview invitation sent to your email. If later it appears that you are unable to attend on the day, please let us know as far in advance as possible. We will try to offer an alternative but please be aware, owing to the large number of applications we receive, this may not always be possible.
How should I prepare for my interview?
Please come prepared to talk about yourself, why you are interested in this particular course and specifically what makes you a good candidate to study with us. Please also think about any questions you would like to ask us. You are not required to bring anything in addition.
Where does my interview take place?
The interviews are online only and take place via Microsoft Teams. Please make sure your computer has a camera and a microphone that work. You need to use a laptop or a PC to open the Teams invite without a download.
Please have a photo ID with you which you can show on camera to confirm that it is you, the applicant, who is online.
What does the interview process involve?
The interview will be a chance for us to find out more about you and vice versa.
Each interview lasts for about 30 minutes and during that time we would like to see you at your best, so the questions will focus on your strengths, current understanding of the course subject matter and relevant experiences.
We are also very happy to answer questions about our courses, but before you ask them, please have a look at the University of East London website to find out more about them (in most cases the answers are already there).
Who will be conducting the interview?
You will be interviewed by a member of the teaching staff from our programme.
How will I know if I have been successful in my application?
The result of your interview will be posted on the applicant portal and you will receive an email notification of that within seven working days from your interview date.
