Dean's Scholarship FAQs
How is the Dean Scholarship different from the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship?
The Dean Scholarship is awarded at School level, meaning each academic Dean selects students who show both academic excellence and a strong connection to UEL’s values. The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship is a larger, university-wide award.
How many Dean Scholarships are awarded each year?
Each School at UEL awards a limited number of scholarships. The exact number varies depending on applications and available funding.
What qualities do Deans look for in applicants?
In addition to strong academic performance, Deans look for evidence of commitment, resilience, leadership, and how you’ve engaged with your community or extracurricular activities.
Can I apply for both the Dean and Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship?
Yes, you can apply for both. However, you may only be awarded one of them. If you’re successful in more than one application, UEL will ensure you receive the award that best supports your circumstances.
Will the scholarship cover living costs as well as tuition?
Yes, you can choose whether to take the award as a tuition fee waiver (reducing what you owe) or as a cash award to help with living expenses.
