Funding for disabled students
Funding for disabled students
As a higher education, full or part-time student living in England, you can apply for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) if you have a disability.
This includes long-term physical and mental health conditions or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Condition.
In order to receive the DSA, you must meet the definition of disability under the Equality Act 2010.
The support you receive depends on your individual needs and not on your income.
For the 2024 to 2025 academic year:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students can get up to £26,948 a year for support.
- Plus extra travel costs due to a student’s disability.
For the 2025 to 2026 academic year:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students can get up to £27,783 a year for support.
- Plus extra travel costs due to a student’s disability.
For more information and details on how to apply, please see the DSA webpage.
