Fees
Every UK university charges tuition fees. UK tuition fees vary depending on your home country. You will be eligible for either Home (UK) fees, or International fees.
Undergraduate courses
Undergraduate tuition fees for 2025 UK students, and EU students with 'settled' or 'pre-settled' status, are typically:
- Full-time: £9,535 per year
- Part-time: Pro-rata full-time fee
Undergraduate tuition fees for new international students starting in 2025:
- Full time: £15,560 per year

Postgraduate taught courses
Course fees for new postgraduate students are provided on our individual postgraduate course pages.
Full-time courses are generally charged by the year, and there is a separate charging structure for international students.

Postgraduate research degrees
All postgraduate research programmes attract the same fees, regardless of School, and Home/EU MPhil/PhD fees are set in line with the Research Funding Council grant. 2025-26 fees:
MPhil/PhD:
Full-time UK/EU students £6,320
Full-time International students £16,900
Part-time UK/EU students £3,160
Part-time International students £8,450
PhD by Published Work:
Part-time UK/EU students £3,160
Part-time International students £8,450
Some postgraduate research programmes may charge additional bench fees - these are primarily for lab-based programmes - of up to £6,000.
Continuing Postgraduate Research and Professional Doctorate Students
Where students are permitted to go into the write-up phase, the following fees will be charged for one year only for full-time and part-time students:
Home/International students: £1000. A 50% rebate will be applied if the thesis is submitted within the first six months of write-up status.
Additional study-related costs
Students on some programmes will need to pay for study-related materials and activities such as field trips, art supplies, safety equipment and clothing, laboratory supplies, etc. The costs may vary depending on your module choices.
