You are invited to UEL AVA Building in our popular Lightwell space, where we will present the workings of the building, the student culture and show you visuals of what we do at UEL that makes us London’s alternative Art School. We will show you the workings of the award-winning students who study within these programmes. After a brief talk, there will be detailed tours of the facilities led by our talented academics and student ambassadors that show you the cutting-edge analogue and digital workshops and spacious studios that you will work in at UEL. There is also a chance to talk with subject-specific academics if you would like to get some advice on your own work, so bring samples of your portfolio with you, and you might walk away with an offer on the day!

Social Work and Youth Work - Undergraduate routes

Fully Accredited by Social Work England, our professional degree pathways into Social Work practice are flagship courses developed to enhance insight into contemporary social work, becoming a reflective and effective practitioner, advocacy and agency for change and real life projects and professional placements. We will also introduce our level 6 Youth Worker Apprenticeship, which offers a JNC-recognised qualification, combining academic learning with practical experience in youth and community work. Legal Advice Centre
Our innovative Legal Advice Centre offers students valuable opportunities to gain experience and develop legal skills. We provide a free legal advice service to the community, which is delivered by university students under the supervision of experienced practising solicitors. Sessions are held daily at USS and every Monday at the Docklands campus. Our students also offer regular support and assistance through the Newham Renewal Programme (Immigration Project) under the guidance of immigration experts. They take instructions, conduct legal research, provide translations when possible, and assist in any necessary way during meetings with clients. Tax and Accounting Clinic
The Tax and Accountancy Clinic is led by students under the guidance of qualified tax professionals with many years of experience in their field. This community-focused initiative provides our students with practical and essential work experience at no cost to the East London community. The University of East London supports local small businesses and low-income individuals in the East London area by addressing challenges related to tax and accountancy. Our tax and accountancy clinic offers a range of services, including assisting with financial planning for small businesses, explaining PAYE codes and assisting in making changes if they are incorrect, clarifying tax calculations received from HMRC and providing advice if they are incorrect. Business Advice Centre
The Business Advice Centre offers a free business advisory service to the East London community. It is led by students under the supervision of experienced business professionals. This community-focused initiative provides students with valuable practical experience at no cost to the community. The UEL Business Advice Centre is available for business surgery appointments and webinars conducted by business experts. Please visit our stand at the Open Day to learn more about our services.
