Exam and assessment adjustments
Exam and assessment adjustments
You need to register with the Disability and Dyslexia Team to access exam arrangements. Once granted, exam adjustments will be in place for the duration of your programme, unless they are for a temporary condition or are updated due to a change in your condition.
Deadline for accessing exam adjustments
You will need to register for your exam adjustments before the termly exam deadline which is week seven of each term. For semester one, the deadline will usually be within the first two weeks of November. Please contact the Disability and Dyslexia team on ddac@uel.ac.uk for exact dates. After this deadline has passed, we cannot guarantee exam arrangements for that term.
If you require examination adjustments, please make an appointment with the Disability and Dyslexia Team as soon as possible. You will need to provide supporting information for your disability / diagnosis for any diagnosis or conditions.
For students who require a reader or scribe for exams, we are encouraging the use of Assistive Technology such as text to speech and dictation software. You can discuss this with an adviser in your registration appointment.
Updating or changing exam arrangements
If you need to update or change your exam arrangements, please contact the Disability and Dyslexia Team before the end of week seven of term.
Please note that you may need to provide additional evidence to put in place additional exam adjustments. Please book an appointment with the Disability and Dyslexia Team as soon as you are aware that your needs have changed.
