Enabling and Assistive Technologies
UEL offers a range of free technology to support all students with their studies. We also provide information on a range of apps, websites and software you can access to help with studying. Visit our dedicated page to read more about Assistive Technology and Ease of Access (Internal link, UEL log-in required).
We also offer bite-sized, one-to-one Edu-Tech training sessions with an Assistive Technology Expert to advise on applications and software.
The online Edu-Tech drop-in service is open to all staff and students. These are 25-minute Training Sessions to support you with studying, learning, or teaching.
The drop-in session provides information, advice, and guidance on a range of technology and apps. All are welcome to come along and learn from an expert how to get the most out of the available technology.
Last year, our B.I.T.T.S experts helped staff and students with:
- Making the most of Microsoft 365
- Using computer software (Assistive Technology) such as Mind Mapping, Text-to-Speech, Voice Recognition, Note Taking and more
- Using referencing software such as Zotero
- Learning about mobile apps to help with your studies/teaching
- Using free accessibility and ease of access tools on your PC/ Laptop
For more information on Edu-Tech or the technology available, current students can visit our Assistive and Educational technologies intranet page (UEL log-in required).
