2. Students will only be eligible for an award if they meet all of the following criteria:
• Starting an undergraduate degree for the first time at UEL in September 2025
- Firmly accepted the University’s programme offer
- Fee assessed as a Home student paying full-time fees of £9,250 per year
- Studying full-time
- Studying at one of our campuses with fees of £9,250 per year
- Must have fully completed enrolment by Date TBC for 2025
- Excludes those studying:

- In receipt of NHS funding
3. There is no application necessary. There are a limited number of awards available. Awards will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis until all awards have been awarded. All decisions are final. Allocation of the package is on a first-come first-serve basis (and may be withdrawn upon our courses reaching capacity), and dependant on Clearing offers being accepted within 7 days, and enrolment being fully completed by Date TBC for 2025.
4. UEL will notify successful students of the provisional nomination during Clearing 2025. The award will only be confirmed once you have firmly accepted your place within 7 days of the offer being made and fully enrolled by Date TBC for 2025.. All communication will be sent by email.
5. UEL is under no obligation to award all packages, should the quality of the applications be insufficient.
6. Awarded students will receive a payment into their chosen bank account. We will request the student’s bank details once successful students have fully enrolled.
7. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure the bank details they provide to the University are correct. Incorrect bank details may cause delays in payment. If bank details have not been provided by the end of the first term, the award will be cancelled without further warning.
8. Payment of the cash award will be made via BACS in November 2025.
9. The award payment will not be made if you have overdue debt to UEL - this includes not having Student Finance in place. Students have the option to have their scholarships transferred to cover/contribute to paying off the debt.
10. The award will be paid in academic year 2025/26. It will not be renewed or extended beyond this term to cover repeat modules or years.
11. Any package awarded is subject to you successfully enrolling on a course at UEL in 2025/26 and committing to the full academic calendar.
12. If an awardee decides to change programmes, the student will be entitled to keep the award provided that the new course and mode of study still meet the eligibility criteria. All changes must be approved by the Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing.
13. If an awardee decides to withdraw, the award will terminate at the date of withdrawal. Any payments made to the student will not need to be returned.
14. The package cannot be exchanged for an alternative award.
15. If the student’s status changes during their study, as a result of information not being provided at the point of application, and the student becomes ineligible, UEL reserves the right to revoke the scholarship and claim back any payments incorrectly made to you.
16. If a student breaks UEL regulations and is withdrawn from study, the award will be immediately revoked. If the student returns to study at a later date, the scholarship will not be re-awarded.
17. Students who are awarded an award must commit to supporting the University with the future promotion of UEL through ambassadorial works. This will be the equivalent of ten hours of unpaid work for the university. Successful students will also need to commit to a photo, testimonial profile and video testimonial promoting UEL as a minimum.
18. UEL reserves the right to verify applications and request additional evidence.
19. If you are in receipt of welfare benefits and begin a course; money from scholarships and bursaries can affect your benefit entitlement as it may be treated as income. This depends on what the fund is intended to support you with, i.e. study related costs or living costs. Starting a course is a change of circumstance and you should inform all relevant benefit offices when you enrol.
20. A complaint is normally a specific concern related to a procedural error, irregularity, or maladministration in admissions procedures or policies. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the administration of your scholarship, please contact us in the first instance so that an informal resolution can be sought. This may be done in writing by emailing studentfunding@uel.ac.uk
