How to apply for accommodation
If you have any problems, please contact us on +44 (0)20 8223 4445 or residentiallife@uel.ac.uk.
1. Obtain a firm offer
You must have a firm offer from the University of East London to apply for accommodation. You can submit an application with a conditional firm offer (CF), but it will not be verified until you have an unconditional firm offer (UF) as stated in our eligibility criteria.
2. Check eligibility
Ensure that you meet all of the eligibility criteria to live in the Halls of Residence.
3. Log in
Log in to the accommodation portal to register and submit an application for the UEL Halls of Residence.
4. Submit
Complete your application by following the steps on the accommodation portal.
5. Wait for verification
Your accommodation application will be verified by one of our team members as long as you meet our eligibility criteria. For a timeline of when you can expect to hear from our team, please read our deadline dates.
6. Provisional offer
Once your application has been verified, you will be given a provisional room offer. You will have the choice of accepting or rejecting this offer, but if you reject it, we cannot guarantee that you will receive another room offer.
7. Pay the deposit
You will be asked to make a payment of £750 to secure your room. This is made up of a £250 refundable security deposit* and a £500 advanced rent payment.
*Provided there are no damages, missing items or outstanding rent, and your room is left in a reasonable state when you depart, your deposit will be refunded to you.
8. Accept the room
Once we have received your deposit, we will ask you to log into the accommodation portal and formally accept your room offer.
9. E-induction
As part of our mandatory pre-arrival process, you must complete the e-induction available via the accommodation portal. You will not be able to move into the Halls of Residence until this has been completed.
