What can I study at UEL?

At UEL there is a range of modules (classes) available to Study Abroad students.

You can build your own programme of studies, taking modules across different academic schools and different academic years (levels) as long as you have attained any pre-requisite education that applies to specific modules. We will also need to ensure that there are no timetable clashes, but apart from that you can generally take whichever classes you choose.

You will only be able to take undergraduate modules. The vast majority of modules open to exchange students are year-long modules, meaning that they run across both Terms 1 and 2. Please bear this in mind when making your application to UEL. We do invite applications from students hoping to study abroad for the full academic year.

There are also different options open to you depending on which term you decide to study at UEL. Take a look at our academic calendar by clicking Discover at the top of this page to see how this might affect you.

Students must select four modules per semester, which are worth 15 UK credits each making 60 credits in total. There is no part-time Study Abroad or Exchange route – students must take four modules, meaning they are full-time students.
Four UEL modules are worth:
  • UK Credits: 60
  • US Credits: 12–15
  • ECTS: 30
Before enrolling on our Study Abroad programme, you must first check that your home institution will accept the above equivalencies, as well as your module selection. If you need to see detailed specifications of our modules, please contact us by email to find out more.

The 2019/20 Module catalogue has not yet been released, but in the meantime you can take a look at our 2017 Autumn/Full Year Module Catalogue, and 2018 Spring Term Module Catalogue.

Please note that modules are subject to change, and alterations may need to be made in the event of schedule clashes.
