Football
East London Football Club is one of East London’s larger clubs, consisting of 3 Men’s teams and a Women’s team all competing in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and cups every Wednesday. The club consists of players and staff passionate about the game with more and more students choosing to study and play football with us.
The football programme at East London has been created to ensure success on and off the pitch through great team spirit, work ethic and developing talent alongside a fantastic group of coaches. The club welcomes players of all abilities and for those who may not want to play, there are still other opportunities to get involved such as becoming a committee member, writing blogs and building a media presence for the sport.
Alongside competitive opportunities, we also run a 5x5 Football Move East London session every Thursday, which is a fun and free session for all students to take part in. It is a great way to still integrate yourself within the Football community without that competitive element each week.
Football is one of East London Sport’s High-Performance Programmes. A range of scholarships are available for 1st team players which includes bursaries, a diverse support package, an exclusive kit and access to our private performance facility Aqua East. Being fortunate enough to kick ball whilst I study has been an absolute blessing. Football has kept me going through hard times, and I have been able to achieve great results both off and, on the pitch, due to a supportive team.
