Head Start

What is Head Start?

Our Head Start programme is an early pre-induction programme that will include social activities, give you a chance to meet people on your course in advance, and get a taste of life at UEL on campus before you start with us.

Head Start is only open to students with unconditional offers to study at UEL in September 2019, and for courses that have chosen to be involved.

When is it?

Your Head Start 2019 programme will be tailored for the course that you are going to be studying. Most of our activities will take place on the Monday 9th September, Tuesday 10th September and  Wednesday 11th September. Please note that these dates are to be confirmed and may change in some instances.

Once you book your place onto Head Start, you will receive a personalised e-mail with your individual programme of the days.

What our students say

Damien Andrews

BSc Sports Coaching student

"I think this programme is a good opportunity for undergraduates to breathe the student life before it has officially started. I had the opportunity and it was great! Head Start allowed me to meet new people who I may not have crossed paths or even socialised with during my degree. I was nervous about starting such a huge new chapter in my life and having to meet new people all over again. However, the programme has provided loads of information and gave me a small taster of what’s to come, as well as helped me get ready for up-coming weeks. To be honest, I’m excited to start university properly, so bring on my degree!"
