International students
If you’re a new student joining UEL from overseas, this page will help you make sure you have everything in place before you arrive.
Don’t miss these important admissions deadlines.
Your Student Visa
As an international student, (a non-UK or Irish national) and you do not have a UK visa that allows you to study, or do not have pre-settled or settled status, you will need to apply for and obtain a visa to study at UEL.
It is important that you understand the immigration requirements before you make a visa application.
Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
A CAS is an electronic record sent to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) by the University to confirm your personal details and details of your course at the University of East London.
You will be issued with a CAS by email once you have met your academic conditions, paid the required tuition fee deposit and passed the necessary Pre-CAS checks (if applicable to you).
Please do not submit your Student visa application without a CAS number as it cannot be added to your application at a later date.
If you have any questions about your student visa, or CAS, check out our enrolment FAQs or our friendly International Student Advice (ISA) team offer free, confidential, information and advice.
Feel free to get in contact with any questions you may have about visas or immigration by emailing isa@uel.ac.uk anytime.
Pass your Right to Study Check
All non-British or Irish students must complete a ‘Right to Study’ check, where you will be required to provide your immigration documents to prove you have the right to study in the UK.
This is a requirement in order to complete your enrolment and become an official student of the University of East London.

Enrolling as an international student
All new students must complete online enrolment. Enrolment involves confirmation of your details, paying your tuition fees, and agreeing to the terms and conditions for your course of study.
As an international student, you will need to make a tuition fee payment or provide proof of funding or sponsorship to complete online enrolment.
Please follow the guidance provided within UEL Direct.
