Kenneth was educated at the University of Birmingham where he graduated with BEng (Hons) in Electronic and Communication Engineering in 1996 and PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 2000.
After graduating, Kenneth continued his career at the University of Birmingham as Research Fellow where he spent four and a half years researching on Microwave Engineering with particular interest in passive microwave design. After leaving the University of Birmingham, he spent 2 years at CryoSystems Ltd as Principal RF Engineer where he headed the RF development of the company in developing cryogenic tower mount amplifier for mobile communication base station. After spending 2 years in industry, he returned to the University of Birmingham in early 2007 and spent another 2 years in re-establishing his academic career. Kenneth joined UEL as Senior Lecturer in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering in Dec 2008. Currently, he also holds an Honorary Research Fellow position at the University of Birmingham.
Overview
Research Themes
Dr Yeo’s research interests are based on the theme in designing novel high performance RF and microwave circuits. To achieve this goal, he has investigated in a number of different design techniques and materials which include high temperature superconductor, ferrite, ferroelectric thick film and low temperature co-firing ceramic.
Research Activity
The current focus of Dr Yeo’s research is in the design of substrate-integrated-waveguide related microwave circuits to achieve high performance circuits for mobile communication and radar applications. He is particularly interested in the design and synthesis of passive RF and microwave circuits, i.e. filter, power splitter, diplexer, filtenna, etc.
