Dr Olaposi Olumuyiwa Olatubosun

Dr Olaposi Olatubosun is the Director of the Tax and Accountancy Clinic, and he teaches Taxation and Auditing both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

    Dr Olaposi Olatubosun PhD, FCCA, FHEA, ACSI is an experienced investment banker, stockbroker, auditor, and tax practitioner. He is the Director of the Tax and Accountancy Clinic which focuses of providing free tax and accountancy consultancy to the members of the East London community.

    His research areas include shareholder activism, responsible investment, active institutional asset ownership, integrated reporting, extinction accounting and biodiversity reporting.


    He is currently exploring the risk, extinction and biodiversity reporting in extractive industries, as well as the politics and impression management inherent in Realzero and Netzero in Carbon Reporting.

    His most recent research is a 20 chapter book on Shareholder Activism in the UK, jointly published with Professor Jill Atkins, Chair in Accounting and Financial Management, University of Sheffield.
    His PhD in the field of Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Sheffield was titled "Exploring ESG Shareholder Activism". It analysed shareholder proposals filed in the UK from 2007 to 2017 from the lens of Ulrich Beck's Risk Society theory, and also applied ethnography methodology in investigating and analysing Investors' Relations meetings over a five-year period.

    Tax & Accountancy Consulting and Academic Research

    Activities include enlightenment of the East London community on tax and accountancy matters relating to their small and medium scale businesses.
    He is actively involved delivering professional and academic papers in the area of shareholder activism and responsible investment. He is also involved in collecting and analysing empirical data on integrated reporting, biodiversity reporting and extinction accounting, and publishing them in top academic and professional accounting journals.
